Our Company

Elsie Halbert began her career in real estate in the 1970s, starting out as a real estate agent with a local brokerage in Kaufman.  Feeling that she could deliver excellent customer service to buyers and sellers in the Kaufman area, she branched out in 1979 with another local broker to form Halbert-Graham Real Estate.  In 1988 Elsie Halbert Real Estate was founded, with the namesake serving as broker/owner until 2007, when Elsie retired and handed the leadership of the company to her daughter. 

Today, we rely on the same ideals and values that have made Elsie Halbert Real Estate a mainstay in the local real estate market.  We treat our clients with dignity and respect and keep their interests as the number one goal.  We want to make your experience, whether as a buyer or seller, as smooth and as painless as possible.

Our Team

Collett Halbert-Ricks

Collett has spent nearly all of her life in Kaufman, where she attended school from grades 1-12.  Afterward she received her undergraduate degree from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M- Commerce).  She grew up riding barrel and cutting horses and working on her family’s ranch in the Ola community of Kaufman.  Her real estate career began in 2000, when she started as a real estate agent working with her mother and namesake of the company, Elsie Halbert.  Collett became the broker of record for Elsie Halbert Real Estate in 2007, succeeding her mother.  Since she started selling real estate, Collett has used her first-hand knowledge of the area to successfully close real estate transactions in Kaufman, Ellis, Henderson, Van Zandt, and Dallas counties.  Collett is married and has one son and daughter-in-law.

Patty Cave

Patty moved to Kaufman in 1963, where she graduated from Kaufman High Schoolin 1966.  She attended East Texas State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  Patty has taught in public and private school ever since, which includes owning and running her own private kindergarten/day care for four years. Patty has taught in Terrell ISD, Scurry ISD, Kaufman ISD and Kemp ISD. She was selected as Kaufman Jr. High Teach of the Year in 1993.  Patty received her degree from Texas A&M - Commerce in 1993 with a Masters in Administration. She received her real estate license in 2007.  Patty has 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson and is a  Member of Missionary Baptist Church in Grays Prairie. She is a member of TRTA (Texas Retired Teachers Association), MetroTex Association of Realtors, and TAR (Texas Association of Realtors).
